A Sneak Peek of Our Beach Cottage!

Good morning from the beach!

We have been planning a trip down here for months but had to wait until the boys got out of summer school and until the beach shack was further along. As of two weeks ago, though, it is livable! We have bathrooms and AC and running water and all but one of the rooms is finished with paint.

What we don’t have are kitchen appliances, so it looks like we’ll be eating out for most of our meals on this trip. The kitchen is the room that hasn’t been painted yet, and it’s also missing the open shelving, but we don’t mind so much right now. We’re just so happy to be at this point!

It’s hard to believe what the house looked like a year ago when we bought it:

Last summer we were driving down every other week to work on it, renting Airbnb’s in the process and just investing so much time and money into fixing this house up, and the fact that we are now staying in it and spending life here is incredible to me.

Yes, we are still eating on paper plates and we forgot to buy forks and knives at the store last night so I had to make peanut butter and jellies with my finger (I know), but it doesn’t matter. We’re here, staying in this little cottage that PJ worked so hard on on all of our trips down here and when we’re weren’t able to be here in person, he did it from seven hours away with endless phone calls to contractors and scheduling things to be done from afar.
