Holiday House Decked Out for the Holidays
Ever since we finished Holiday House, the small cottage on our farm, last year, we both agree our favorite time to be there is during the holidays. There’s greenery and wreaths everywhere, and our little tree in the corner of the living room puts off the most gorgeous glow.
Just like last year, PJ threw up all of the holiday decorations in about 30 minutes, speeding through the house and hanging things up in just the places they go. We listened to Christmas music while he did it, and the whole place felt festive and cozy.
Last week, PJ’s sister and her family are stayed at Holiday House while they were in town for Thanksgiving, so our assistant cleaned the entire house to prepare for them. Since it has never ever been this clean, and who knows when it’ll ever look like this again, I decided to snap a few photos of the main living area to document how good it looked.
Enjoy!
My favorite pieces of holiday decor are the pre-lit mixed green arches over the doorways. They make the whole room feel magical and extra holiday-ish. PJ decorated them with flocked ornaments and I think it makes them look even better.
We had both extensions out on our dining table to fit everyone we hosted for Thanksgiving.
I love how the new linen blackout curtains in the living room completely change the feel of the room. It feels so much more finished and put together, don’t you think? Up next, we want to switch out our couches for some that are a little more comfortable. We love how big they are and how many people they fit, but want them to be a little more comfy and cozy to lay on.
I love this view of the kitchen, clutter and all. This is how it looks on any given day, and I wanted to capture it without making it look or feel too staged.
I love our Murphy Floor Lamp in the corner of the dining room so much. It puts off the most gorgeous glow. Sadly it’s not sold in black anymore, but there’s a beautiful brass color that would look great in any room!
The cedar garland around the front door creates the most welcoming entryway. Whenever we take it down after the holidays, it always looks so bare and I find myself wanting to keep it up all year long!
We hope you enjoyed this little tour, and we hope you’re having the most wonderful holidays! xoxo
