Getting Ready for Something Super Exciting

Getting Ready for Something Super Exciting

We’re tired.

The last few days have been nonstop cleaning, prepping, organizing, and in a sense, staging our home. We’re cleaning our house like we never have before for a very fun day this coming Friday. We’ve known about it for months, but it’s getting down to the wire now.

There’s a pain in my shoulders that only a deep tissue massage would alleviate. I only get it when I’m super stressed and going, going, going, which has been the last week. And poor PJ is even worse. You know he puts 150% into everything he does and works himself to the bone, and the last few weeks have been no different in preparing for Friday. I already told him that Friday night is going to be me and him on the couch with two huge bowls of popcorn, wine, and Reese Witherspoon’s new romcom Your Place or Mine. If we can just get passed Friday, we’re good.

All this to say, we’re actually so excited about what’s happening! Like, really really excited and can’t wait for you to see it. It’s something we’ve never done before even after 8 years of sharing our lives online. Any guesses as to what it is?

Tomorrow will be for deep cleaning and putting the final last minute touches on things. The kids’ aunt took them to the park tonight, then to church, and then out to eat, which was so helpful and gave us a few hours to clean the house from top to bottom. And then, after texting my mom yesterday asking her if she would have time to help in any capacity, she brought over homemade lasagna and garlic bread for dinner tonight, complete with cut up strawberries for dessert.

Even on a stressful and crazy day like today, any night where we don’t have to cook is a win in my book. What would we do without her? I don’t think there’s anything more heartfelt and meaningful than cooking for someone.

On top of that, PJ’s mom said she would help clean our house tomorrow. So sweet. Again I ask, what would we do without her?

Come to think of it, what would we do without everyone in our little community? I think friends and family are what make life worth living, don’t you?
