The Start of a Beautiful Weekend & Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!

How was your week?

We woke up to a freezing cold morning, with frost on the ground and the sun shining, but sadly, also with two sick babies. Only one of them is going to school today and the other two are couch bound, chugging water and staying close. I think it might be one of the worst feelings in the world to see your kids sick, feeling helpless and knowing there’s only so much you can do to help. There’s medicine to give, water to drink, and rest to be had, but sometimes you just have to let the sickness run its course (and feel terrible for them while it does).

In other news, we closed on a new house yesterday!!! We’re lovingly calling this new project “Getaway House” and we’re so excited to get started on it! Like always, it’s a huge fixer upper with tons of potential. It sits on one magical acre, and is secluded and surrounded by trees and woods. We woke up super early this morning (and side note: drank our coffee while listening to Adele’s new album, which is so damn good by the way) to get a fresh start on the day before PJ headed out there to start cleaning it. It’s honestly in pretty good shape besides needing to be deep, deep cleaned. And once that’s complete, we can start demoing and renovating it ASAP.

We’re pretty much finished with all we need to do (read: with what PJ needs to do) on the downtown cottage renovation, with PJ’s mom being able to move in in just a few weeks! Once that is finished, we’ll be turning our full attention to Getaway House. Not sure how much we’re going to be doing to it right away, but we know there will be lots of paint involved.

Signing off for the day because our youngest needs lots of cuddles and snuggles. We’ll be spending the day at home, watching movies on the couch and cleaning our own house because I’m convinced it’s never been dirtier, messier, or more disgusting than it is currently. Wish me luck.

Have a great weekend!!
