A New Chapter for the Blog
If you've stopped by PJandThomas.com recently and thought, "Did they forget the password?" you're not alone.
The truth is, we haven't published a new post here in nearly three months. For the first time in almost a decade, things have been a little quiet around these parts. But it wasn't because we stopped writing. In fact, we've been writing more than ever.
Over the past three years, our newsletter, Okay McKay, has become the place where we're sharing our stories, personal essays, family updates, marriage conversations, funny moments, hard moments, and all of the little everyday things that make up a life. It's where we've been showing up most consistently, and honestly, it's become one of our favorite corners of the internet.
The conversations happening there have been so incredible and rewarding. Every week, we're connecting with people who laugh with us, cry with us, share their own stories, and remind us why we started writing online in the first place.
So while the blog may have looked quiet from the outside, we've actually just been hanging out next door.
And that brings us to today.
After a lot of thought, we've decided to give the blog a new purpose.
Going forward, PJandThomas.com is becoming our shopping headquarters.
Think of it as the place where all of our recommendations, finds, favorites, and discoveries will live.
If you've ever messaged us asking:
"Where is that lamp from?"
"Do you have a link for those shorts?"
"What's the espresso machine you always talk about?"
"Can you send me that book recommendation again?"
This is where you'll find all of it.

Some weeks it might be a collection of things we're currently obsessed with. Other weeks it might be a deep dive into the one product we've used for years and recommend to literally everyone who visits our house. The goal is simple: create a place that's easy to browse, easy to search, and full of things that make everyday life a little more enjoyable.
What isn’t changing is the heart of what we've always done. For the past nine years, this website has been a scrapbook of our lives. It's documented renovations, road trips, foster care, adoption, marriage, parenting, farm projects, decorating disasters, victories, setbacks, and more paint colors than any reasonable person should have opinions about.
And none of that is going anywhere. Every post we've shared over the past nine years will remain right here on the blog. If you're feeling nostalgic and want to revisit old house projects, adoption updates, Holiday House renovations, or family memories, you'll still be able to find them all. Those stories are a huge part of who we are, and we're grateful to have them preserved here.
The internet has changed a lot since we started this blog. Back then, blogging was where everything happened. Today, our writing has found a new home through Okay McKay, and it feels right to let this space evolve into something different. Instead of trying to make one platform do everything, we're allowing each space to do what it does best.
Okay McKay is where we'll continue sharing stories, and PJandThomas.com is where we'll share the things we're loving.
Together, they feel like two halves of the same conversation. One is the story, the other is the recommendation. One is what we're thinking about, the other is what we're bringing home.
And before we start this next chapter, we just want to say thank you. Whether you've been reading since the early days or found us somewhere along the way, thank you for spending part of your life with us. Nine years is a long time. Some of you have watched us go from newlyweds to dads. You've followed along through renovations, moves, projects, animals, celebrations, and countless cups of coffee. You've cheered us on, offered advice, shared your own stories, and made this community feel like so much more than a website.
We're incredibly excited about where things are headed, and we hope you'll come along for the ride.
