Big Mac Tacos

These Big Mac tacos are everything you love about a classic fast-food burger, wrapped inside a crispy tortilla and made right at home. Think juicy seasoned beef, melty sharp cheddar cheese, crunchy lettuce, tangy pickles, and a creamy homemade Big Mac sauce recipe that ties it all together. Basically the ultimate smash burger taco. I first saw this recipe on @iramfoodstory last week when PJ sent me the recipe saying we should try it. I am so glad we did! Below is my take on it, with a few ingredients changed, but still just as good.

These are fast, they’re nostalgic, and they’re wildly satisfying. They might just become your new go-to easy weeknight dinner. PJ requested them at least once a week after eating them last night, so they’ll be added to our menu!

If you’re looking for a viral-worthy smash burger taco recipe, this is it.

Ingredients for Big Mac Tacos

For the tacos:

  • 1 lb ground beef (we used 85% lean)

  • 8 to 10 tortillas

  • 10 slices sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup chopped lettuce

  • 1 cup pickles

  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the homemade Big Mac sauce:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise

  • 3 tablespoons ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 2 tablespoons diced yellow onion

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • Salt to taste

How to Make Big Mac Tacos

Step 1: Make the Homemade Big Mac Sauce

In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, diced onion, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, and salt.

Stir until smooth and creamy. Cover and refrigerate while you prepare the tacos. This helps the flavors meld and gives you that authentic copycat Big Mac sauce flavor.

Pro tip: Make it ahead of time. It tastes even better after sitting for a few hours.

Step 2: Prepare the Beef

Season your ground beef generously with salt and pepper.

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Press a thin layer of seasoned ground beef directly onto one side of the tortilla. This creates that classic smash burger taco texture.

Place the tortilla beef-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes until the beef is browned and slightly crispy around the edges.

Flip the tortilla over so the tortilla side is down. Immediately top with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese and let it melt for about 1 to 2 minutes.

Step 3: Assemble Your Big Mac Tacos

Once the cheese is melted, remove from heat and top with:

  • A drizzle of homemade Big Mac sauce

  • Chopped lettuce

  • Pickles

Fold and serve immediately.

The combination of crispy beef, gooey cheddar, cool lettuce, and tangy pickles creates that perfect Big Mac flavor in taco form. SO good.

What to Serve with Big Mac Tacos

If you’re leaning into the fast-food energy, serve with:

  • Homemade French fries (which is what we made!0

  • Sweet potato fries

  • A simple side salad

  • Coleslaw

They’re also perfect for casual gatherings, summer dinners, or when you want something nostalgic but homemade.

These easy Big Mac tacos are the perfect mashup recipe for anyone who loves burgers and tacos equally and refuses to choose between them. Our oldest has been randomly asking for a Big Mac for weeks (I have no idea why lol) and these satisfied his craving and are surely a little healthier than McDonald’s.

Make them once, and taco night may never look the same again.
