3 Holiday Goodies That Brought Me Joy
Yesterday was a delight.
First, I went to the PO Box where I was overjoyed to see all of the holiday cards sweet readers sent to us!!! You guys never cease to amaze us every year. We always hang up your cards around the opening in our front room and love seeing all of your faces and reading about your wonderful year. If you sent one in to us, thank you, thank you, thank you. And happy holidays!
Next, our friend Beau stopped by and gave us some peanut butter banana bread he baked! How sweet is that? It was in the most thoughtful wrapping (the cat! the ribbon!) and tasted delicious. Each of the kids had a slice and asked for more. I love unexpected pop-ins from friends and family. Thank you, Beau!!
Lastly, PJ usually handles Elfie (our Elf on the Shelf) and her shenanigans, but since he was at the farm all afternoon, I took it upon myself to set the scene before the kids got home from school So, when I wasn’t looking, Elfie made herself a bowl of popcorn, broke into the candy stash (she has a major sweet tooth), and plopped down to watch YouTube Kids, which she knows isn’t allowed in this house. She is so mischievous and almost always up to no good. It was fun to surprise the kids and see their reactions, since they always know she will get into something around the house. It wasn’t quite on PJ’s level of Elfie mischief, but it was funny nonetheless.
Life. It really is all about the little things, isn’t it? Happy holidays, loves!
